Rammed Earth home in the finishing stages.

This project is getting greener by the minute, find out why below!

 

The use of local materials, Douglas fir, the rammed earth and the paperstone (recycled paper) siding which is made on the west coast. These are green but not the newest addition.

 

The latest addition to the green building practices of RDC is in the bathrooms! The marble has been recycled from another project, not sure where, you will have to asked Bob Deeks about the story behind the marble. The marble will be used in the showers as well as the vanity counter-tops. Plus the stair treads will be marble.

Air distribution ducting. The arteries of the ‘intelligent-air’ system that will keep this home perfectly tuned with temperature and fresh air.

Meeting of the minds, Ralph Kinnis gives and explanation of the system and directs installation of the ducting. To place this amount of ducting in a confined space takes an artist in the trade!

Mark Smith from Falcon Railings Vancouver, has brought us a sample of the amazing looking railings. They will even colour match to the windows!
